Kaprun is a snow sure resort.
The Europa Sport region has 57 cable cars and lifts, 10 ski schools (3 in Kaprun), 130kms of prepared runs, the highest point is 3029m.
Despite Kaprun being relatively low it is situated at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, so you will have guaranteed snow and fantastic scenery. This is a resort for all levels of skiers, Beginners have two nursery areas, Intermediates have a wide choice of blue runs and Experts skiers will love the challenging black runs and the exciting off piste opportunities.
Beginners, we can help you with advice on equipment hire, lift passes and ski school. We know the best local shops and will happily guide you through these first steps. Haus Patricia is right next to the nursery slopes and the children's ski area, which makes it a great place to stay if learning to ski.
Advanced skiers/boarders, we know all the runs in the Europa Sport Region and areas you will not find in the tourist books. We can help you find the best conditions and runs to suit every need.
Non skiers, there is a lot to do in the area. Salzburg is only 60mins away and there are excellent bus and train links. The town of Zell am See is a short bus ride away or in Kaprun the Optimum centre is a great place to spend a relaxing day. We will be happy to talk about the many attractions on offer.
The local Schafenberg ski area has been substantially upgraded. The old 'T' bar lifts have been replaced with chair and button lifts. The entire area is now covered with new snow making facilities.
The Kitzsteinhorn glacier had a new Gondola in 2005. This has vastly increased the uplift capacity.
Snowboarders can enjoy at least three fun parks in the area. These parks have jumps, obstacles and much more for all abilities.
